This movie has a great premise. It’s about a bank teller that discovers he's actually a background player in a Grand Theft Auto type video game. It’s like Truman Show meets Ready Player One meets Wreck-It-Ralph.

The movie is about him trying to save his video game world before it gets destroyed. I like Ryan Reynolds and find him funny in Deadpool...but I kind of felt like he was just playing the same character again. So I didn’t find this movie as funny as I thought it was going to be. I feel like the comedy was more geared towards kids. And although the movie had a cool premise...for me, it didn’t follow through enough. It was a bit too cheesy to me at moments going from the real world to the video game world.

I also thought they missed some opportunity to make the actual video game action bigger and more fun. After the opening sequence...I felt it didn’t have enough video game-like action. Overall it was entertaining enough...but I don’t think I’m dying for a sequel.

I’d give it 3 out of 5 Gamer Tags. and I would say Skip it. At least for now...I’d say wait until it’s on a streaming service. For more movie reviews: Check Out Movie Mike's Movie Podcast on iHeartRadio!
