A Boise Building Has Been Named One Of The Ugliest In America
When you think of buildings in Boise, some immediately come to mind. The State Capitol, the US Bank Plaza, One Capital Center, and the Grove Hotel, to name a few. However, only one building stands out as the ugliest in the entire state of Idaho.
Alot took the ugliest building in each state and ranked them 1-50 from most to least ugly. According to the article, the ugliest building is the Kaden Tower in Louisville, Kentucky. The second ugliest is closer to home, the Orrin G. Hatch United States Courthouse in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Other buildings closer to us that made the list are the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, Washington, which came in at number three. The Portland Building in Portland, Oregon, came in at number 28, and a very interesting-looking KFC restaurant in Los Angeles, California, came in at number 12.
The Idaho building that made the list was one of Idaho's more modern skyscrapers. At 323 feet, the 18-story high rise at 8th and Main, known as the Zion Bank building in Downtown Boise, was named Idaho's Ugliest Building. It ranks as just the 42nd ugliest in the country.
Why would this building be considered so ugly? The article says that it looks like a classic skyscraper being devoured by a modern one. The building's spire was changed several times because of complaints that it looked too much like a Mormon Temple.
Do you think the 8th and Main Building is the ugliest in Idaho? We think there are better candidates.
