"Someone actually thought it would be a good idea to put on a Hetero Awesome Fest concert?"

Yes. Yes they did. And it went precisely how you're assuming it did.

Um, what's a Hetero Awesome Fest?

Well, you can ask Mark Fitzpatrick, owner of the Old State Saloon where the event took place. Fitzpatrick organized the festival "in response to his desire not to take his family downtown during Pride celebrations."

You're reading that correct. An adult man was so upset over the idea of a Pride celebration, that he took it upon himself to put together a celebration for straight people, and the name he landed on was "Hetero Awesome Fest."

Reports say that 30-50 people attended the event. You can witness the very sparse crowd with video (provided by the venue) here: Old State Saloon on X: "Hetero Awesome Fest! • LIVE from Boise, ID https://t.co/PXDM5nI1uJ" / X

At one point, a protestor took to the stage to perform a pro-LGBTQ+ song, and they were quickly removed from the premises.
