Summer is just around the corner, if you can believe it.

Here in the Treasure Valley, it feels like temperatures have only just turned a corner to get some sun on our skin and with it, a little warmth! Even after a mild winter, an 80-degree day suddenly feels so hot!

As schools here in the Boise area begin to wind down for the year, with only weeks left before summer break (how is it this time already), many families are forced to figure out how to handle day-to-day things that many schools are able to assist with during the school year.

Things like childcare are really difficult for many parents to figure out during the summer months--most folks aren't able to take a 'summer break' from their jobs and are forced to make sure their kids have safe places to be during the work week.

Meals, are another concern throughout the summer. Families need their children to be able to each while school is out of session because for many, school is where their kids are getting their daytime meals.

With everything going on in the world right now and prices on everything seemingly skyrocketing, it's clear that just about every household could use some relief.

West Ada School District will, once again this summer, be offering a unique service to local families.

Beginning on June 1st and running through July 31st, children ages 1 through 18 will be able to access free, healthy meals regardless of income or school enrollment at multiple schools, parks, and libraries across the district.
