Neil Young has repeatedly asked the Trump campaign not to use his music, even dating back to Trumps first campaign. After being disregarded and disrespected Neil filed the infringement lawsuit yesterday. However, Plaintiff in good conscience cannot allow his music to be used as a ‘theme song’ for a divisive, un-American campaign of ignorance and hate.”

Neil is making sure that Trump can no longer use his songs and also demands statutory damages. Often copyright suits against politicians don’t make it all the way to court and settle. The legal process is slow and often the case outlasts the campaign making it somewhat useless. Neil Young is tired of asking and felt he had to do what he could.
