Hundreds of people are without power in Boise after an SUV crashed into a power pole and snapped it in half!

 

The accident happened about 11am at the corner of Elwood Drive and South Gekeler Lane.

 

The SUV hit the pole so hard that it snapped the power pole in half and left it hanging by the power lines.

 

According to KTVB and Idaho Power, it will take about 6 hours to replace the pole and for now approximately 325 customers are without power in the area.

 

The roads around the accident are blocked but should re-open soon.

 

One person is in the hospital from the crash, but their identity and condition are unknown at this time.
