Idaho lawmakers are pushing forward a bill that could ban masks in public, sparking a fiery debate.

Here we go again? The plot thickened Tuesday when Boise Mayor, Lauren McLean, announced new COVID-19 policies for events this fall, and it felt a little like 2020 might be happening all over again. But this is why it won't.

In hind sight most people, be it leaders or citizens would adjust some things from the last 18 months. Overall Idaho bounced back better than many other states on multiple levels.

Gov. Brad Little signed an executive order Friday repealing another executive order the lieutenant governor used to ban state and local governments from mandating masks in response to COVID-19.

It's no secret that Governor Little and Lt. Governor McGeachin don't see eye to eye and from time to time they have had a spat or two but this most recent episode is next level.

The new health order requires mask coverings, this time it will actually be enforced though. Many City buildings and other businesses closing. It limits access to airport, lessens meetings, and has greater consequences for violators.

Biden's office has released plans to work with governors and mayors to create a nationwide mask requirement mandate. Most states already have one, while others, like Idaho have no statewide rule leaving it up to local leaders.
