You might be staying inside to battle the triple-digit heat this Summer in Boise. Several families are just trying to figure out what you can do as kids are tired of being stuck at home.

Well, it's safe to say that Boise is back because the events are stacking up. Downtown Boise welcome's back the Twilight Criterium pro men and women's cycling races this weekend.

What Is the Twilight Criterium

Boise loves their outdoor activities that include marathons, hiking, rafting, camping, and cycling around the City of Trees. The Twilight Criterium brings all the cyclists together for one weekend including an exciting twilight race through Downtown Boise.

This event hosts the top pro women's and men's cycling teams in the country.

"It's a 34-year tradition and after a COVID year. We do in fact have the biggest and fastest men/women pro series ever," Mike Cooley Twilight Criterium Race Director said. "There are already 120 men and 80 women riders fr this event. There will be an expo hosting amazing craft beer and food for everyone."

Ride with Idaho Olympic Gold Medalist Kristin Armstrong and Muffy Davis

Kristen Armstrong is a three-time Olympic gold medalist winning in 2008, 2021, and 2016 Olympics. Kristen is always dedicating her time to the kids and rides with them each year during this event.

Muffy Davis is a member of the Idaho House of Representatives and former Silver Medalist at the 2002 Winter Paralympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Both Olympians will be on the course during a special kids race ages 3 - 10 years old. You will be able to meet Kristen and Muffy including autographs/photos. This is St. Luke's Kids Ride.

Races, Times, and Fan Expo

There is a Twilight Fan Expo in Cecil D. Andrus/Capitol Park hosting assortments of foods, beverages including craft beer.

  • Friday, July 9, 2021 - 3 PM - 7 PM at JUMP Boise for exploring, autograph alley meet/greet, live music, and introduction to riders.
  • Saturday, July 10, 2021 - 10 AM kickoff to the US Paralympic Cycling National Championship Crit.
  • Saturday, July 10, 2021 - 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM for St. Luke's Boise Twilight Criterium Kids Ride
