Fatal Fiery Truck Accident Reported in Northern Idaho

The Idaho State Police have reported a fatal car accident in northern Idaho, marking the 40th fatality ISP report on Idaho highways since the start of the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer.

The accident happened in Shoshone County, near Kingston, on July 28th, around 4:30 PM.

ISP Report Fatal Fiery Truck Accident in Northern Idaho

According to the report from the Idaho State Police, the accident happened on Fast Hill Road near Wingfield Road.

A 2025 F450 pickup truck driven by a 64-year-old male from Kingston, Idaho, was traveling northbound on Fast Hill Road, failed to maintain their lane of travel, ran off the roadway, crashed into the embankment on the roadside, and caught fire.

The driver was the only occupant of the truck, and he passed away at the scene of the crash.

Idaho State Police are investigating the accident.

Charges have been filed against a man who allegedly caused a fatal accident over the Thanksgiving holiday in 2025. A child was killed in the crash, and two other juveniles were injured.

Police believe the man was using his phone excessively while driving, was speeding through a construction zone, and tested positive for cocaine and opiates after the crash.
