Situation Update as of 3/30/2017

The rivers and streams around the valley are all running at capacity or higher. The situation is not expected to change soon. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Boise River that will remain in effect until the river drops below 7000 CFS.

As of today (3/30/17) - the river is at 8100 CFS - and the US Army Corps of Engineers is hoping to hold it there, but that may change depending on the weather conditions. It's not helping that we are getting more rain and wind. The high winds can blow trees over (as we saw today) and put more debris into the rivers and streams causing blockage and more flooding.

The current state of the Boise River is expected to remain extremely high, fast and dangerous until the middle of, or late May.

Ada County has set up a page that has a lot of great information on what to do to  prepare for the worst. They have a list of places to get sand and sandbags, insurance questions and how to sign up for emergency alerts.

You can get all that information HERE

Be prepared, and please be safe!
