Wow this is something I have never heard of happening, but in Arkansas it did. A hunter was killed by a deer.

Hearing stories like this are a good reminder of the dangers of hunting. A 66 year old hunter had shot a deer he thought he killed in the Yellville area, well he went to check on the deer and it wasn't dead and when they found the man he had puncture wounds that he suffered resulting in his death. I assume the animal jumped up started and gored him with its antlers.

The Fish and Game commission said they have never heard a story like this before. It's not something that happens often obviously but a reminder to make sure  your animal is dead before approaching.

I will forever be reminded of this story which is why sharing it is important. I feel awful for this man and his family, that seems like a painful way to go but he was doing what he loved.
