Carly Pearce and Michael Ray Are Engaged!
Michael Ray popped the question to girlfriend Carly Pearce ... and the singer-songwriter said yes! The two country artists announced their engagement on Saturday (Dec. 22).
In Instagram posts, both Pearce and Ray shared photos of the big moment, of themselves happily smiling afterwards and of Pearce's stunning engagement ring. Ray reveals in his Instagram post that he popped the question on Wednesday (Dec. 19).
"Carly, you make it all make sense, every step of my life good and bad was leading me to you. You are the biggest blessing I have and will ever receive," writes Ray. "I’m glad we have forever together my love 'cause it is gonna take every second of it for you to understand how much I truly adore, respect, honor and love you!"
"Michael, I would've married you the first night we hung out because I knew then you were the one," writes Pearce in her post. "You will always be my most precious example of God's timing and His love for me. I found my home in you & will love you with everything I have forever and a day."
Pearce and Ray announced that they were a couple in July of 2018, after finding romance "one random night" at Nashville honky-tonk the Nashville Palace. Ever since, Ray and Pearce have delighted fans with swoon-worthy social media posts, adorable onstage duets and even the possibility of a full-fledged collaboration on Pearce's upcoming sophomore album in 2019.
"I would’ve laughed at you if you would’ve told me, ‘You’re gonna end up dating a country artist.’ I would’ve said, 'That’s really funny. Never. I don’t want to date an artist,’" Pearce admits. "[But] it's really awesome."
Though Pearce may have originally been opposed to the idea of dating another musician, she says that she and Ray use their work experiences as a connecting and uplifting point. The competitive spirit between the two is "healthy," she adds.
"I’m very supportive of him, he’s very supportive of me," she shares. "We build each other up and are there for each other if we need to cry or just get something out that’s frustrating."
