When the temperatures heat up, my sweet tooth starts aching for cooling treats! I love it all: ice cream, shaved ice, milk shakes, popsicles, frozen grapes, frozen candy bars, and even flavored ice cubes (yes, that was a thing in my house growing up: filling the ice cube trays with juice, covering it with cellophane and putting tooth picks in each one).

1. Reeds Dairy. An absolute institution in Idaho. Headquartered in Idaho Falls and family-owned, Reeds Dairy does it all. Milk, cheese, cheese curds, and ice cream. Little things like putting potato flakes in their chocolate milk and serving up grilled cheese and tomato soup keep their customers coming back. They even host an annual ice-cream for breakfast with ice-cream topped french toast. Stop in at any Reed's Dairy in East Idaho or here in the Treasure Valley to stock up on truly delicious and local dairy products.

2. Stella's Ice-Cream. Located throughout the Treasure Valley: Meridian, Boise, Caldwell, and Eagle. Stella's is easily the first ice-cream shop that most locals have at the top of their mind and tip of their tongue. Offering a variety of handcrafted ice cream flavors and combinations with names like "All-Nighter" and "Blue Moon". They have truly taken ice cream to the next level and made it art that you can eat.

3. Goody's Soda Fountain & Candy Store. There may be only one location, but Hyde Park is the perfect location for this confectionary oasis. Yes, they offered old-fashioned ice-cream treats and a huge selection of flavors, but they are famous for their handmade chocolates and amazing waffle cones. The smell of the cones wafting throughout the store is a bonus.

That's just a sample of the many sweet treat locations throughout the Treasure Valley.
