Remember Maria Kang the woman with three kids under the age of 3?  She was calling out "average" women every where posing with her three kids in little clothing (her not the kids) with a caption reading "What's Your Excuse?"

Now this woman caused quite the stir around not just the world but in my circle of friends.  Many found her motivating, more found her "fat shaming" to be somewhat indicative of our culture.  It's funny on the eve of one a holiday where we give thanks and over induldge this story should break.  Maria has been banned from Facebook.  The way it all started according to Jezebel was Kang saw those Curvy Girl lingerie campaigns where "normal" women modeled lingerie, Kang wrote, she was "annoyed" by "news stories about how overweight, nearly obese women should be proud of their bodies." When confronted that "normal" women should not be proud of themselves she had this to say "I am motivated by constant body (fat) acceptance campaigns strewn all over the internet followed by comments with the context of 'you go girl!' and 'more power to you!' The popular and unrelenting support received to those who are borderline obese (not just 30-40lbs overweight) frustrates me as a fitness advocate who intimately understands how poor health negatively effects a family, a community and a nation."

I don't know.  As someone who has had her struggles with weight it is really hard for me to hear Mrs. Kang say these things.  Listen.  It's not easy.  I make time to go to CrossFit, I change my eating habits to eat well, and I barely have the time to do it and I don't have kids.  I applaud her hard work and dedication to her abs, but at the end of the day whether you are 500lbs or 100lbs it's how you treat people that matters.  She says she is "sorry but not sorry." I think this won't be the last we hear from her.
