Gloriana isn’t afraid to put everything they have into their art, even if it means getting hurt.

‘Trouble’ is the first single from the brand-new album, Three, a title that reflects not just the trio’s structure, but also the fact that it’s their third album and that it took three years to make.

The band’s Tom Gossin (Mike's brother) says it also reflects how the band “came back from a lot of adversity right around the second album and ended up having the most success we’ve had so far with ‘(Kissed You) Good Night’ and Can’t Shake You,’” both from that sophomore album, A Thousand Miles Left Behind, released not long after the former quartet lost one of its original members. It also reflects their growth as songwriters, with the band members penning three quarters of the album’s tracks.

Their first line of their new bio refers to the uncertain times after abruptly losing band member Cheyenne Kimball in 2011. “Forget everything you think you know about Gloriana,” the bio reads. “Most of what’s out there about the Emblem / Warner Bros. Records trio is based on misconception, gossip, and confusion.”

Asked what misperceptions the band felt they needed to debunk, they seem to indicate that it was mainly early career perceptions that the group had been manufactured.

Says Rachel, “We’ve been kind of fighting the same stuff— not so much anymore as we did in the beginning — about how authentic are we as artists and people? We’ve really just gone out and tried to prove ourselves over the years that we are a real band … and that we are a family and that we all play our own instruments, and play our own music and sing our butts off.”

Adds Tom, “We can all high five each other these days and say ‘We made it through the fire and we’re out the other side.’”
