The summer heat wave is on in the Treasure Valley. Here's something fun to help you cool off today! If the weather forecast is accurate, we're going to see highs near or over 100 degrees again today. The City of Eagle has been working on some changes at Guerber Park (located at 2200 Hill Road) and today the park is ready for some fun!

The new splash pad is ready to keep you and your kids cool! You can check out the improvements at Guerber Park tonight, starting at 6pm, when the park is re-dedicated.

Tammy Gordon of the City of Eagle tells us, "Over $1 million went into the renovation. The new Splashpad covers 4,500 square feet and satisfy different needs of the 500 visitors that the park sees on a typical summer day. It includes a tot spot - small enough for younger kids – and the kid zone - big enough to hold interest in bigger kids such as squirt guns and a large dump bucket. The expansion of Guerber Park also includes increased field area by two acres, extending the trail that circles the park, and the playground itself has been replaced with brand new park features."

Former Eagle Mayor and Councilman, Steve Guerber will be the special guest for the festivities tonight. The City of Eagle will also have treats on hand, live music and more for park users this evening. The City Of Eagle Police Department and the Eagle Fire Department will also be there to help strengthen the community bond.

Central District Health will have free sunscreen for you tonight as well.

Parking could be limited, so if you live nearby, the City of Eagle is asking you to bike or walk to the park. If you must drive, please be respectful of the people that live in the area and don't park where driveways become blocked or hard to access.

For tonight only, you can also park in the bike lane near Guerber Park.

Have fun in Eagle tonight!
