There are parenting wins and parenting fails. I had one of each this weekend.

Saturday we celebrated Pi Day with some round food. Hamburgers, pickles, I even cut the cheese into circles in order to eat all things Pi-inspired. And of course, the tallest child and I made a Pi Pie (strawberry rhubarb)

It was a great opportunity to make math fun for the girls. And get burgers and pie for me. All in all, I would say it was a parenting win.

Then came Sunday.

It was just one of those days. Nothing was getting done. I was constantly putting out fires and cleaning up messes. When it came time to feed the kids I had a mini-meltdown by the time my wife got home from work.

"What's for dinner?' she innocently asked.

"Hot dogs," I snarled.

"Just hot dogs?" she said.

"No," I responded. "There's a vegetable too. Ketchup."

Listen, I love hot dogs. But from a nutritional standpoint, it's not my proudest moment.

Parenting fail.

As every parent knows... you win some and you lose some.
