Are You Ready For Back To School In Idaho?
Summer is flying by and it's the home stretch to those three words dreaded by kids throughout the Treasure Valley, Back To School.
Whether they like it or not most schools in Idaho are back in session in early August and that means it's time to stock up on school supplies!

Your Idaho Wal-Mart always seems to be the first to change over their aisles from 4th Of July to Back To School, and this year is no different.

I actually loved going back to school shopping with my mom. I have fond memories of buying clothes and shoes at our local department stores.

But, when it came to school supplies, I couldn't wait. Pens, pencils, the pencil box, protractor, compass, ruler, Pee-Chee folders, Trapper Keeper binder, and of course, white-out.

Nowadays, it seems to be a collective and community thing, buying bulk anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, and Kleenex for the class stash.
It's Back To School Time In Idaho
But, it's still exciting nevertheless. My kids especially like picking out their backpacks. We never used them when I was in school, but, it's obviously and essential item now.
And of course, the lunchbox. Which isn't much of a box anymore. When I was a kid, the lunchbox was your social statement. Most were adorned with your favorite tv show, cartoon, or movie characters and included a matching thermos inside for your beverage of choice. My personal favorite was my Happy Days/Fonzi lunchbox.
Of course that evolved as I got older to a brown paper bag and a frozen Capri Sun with usually a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, assorted fruit, and hopefully something from Hostess like a Ding Dong or Zingers. Now it's plastic containers, Stanley, and hot lunch mostly.

So, instead of dreading back to school shopping, embrace it as a chance to make some cool memories with your kids. That means going to the store, not clicking and buying on Amazon. Have a great school year!
