Starting Sunday, Nampa Police will restructure their response to certain types of calls.

In an effort to focus on "proactive police work," the Nampa Police Department announced that they will no longer dispatch officers to deal with child discipline issues, unless, there is actually a crime taking place.

Nampa PD also says they will not be responding to civil matters or code enforcement. That's not all, the following list includes other issues NPD will no longer dispatch officers for:

- "Cold" reckless driving complaints, in which the caller can no longer see the driver.

- Civil matters including repossessions, landlord and tenant issues and anything not defined as a crime by Idaho Code

-VIN inspections,

-Thefts from vehicles that are not in progress

-Abandoned vehicles that are not causing a traffic hazard

-Reports of lost property or reports of identity theft, both of which can be reported online

These issues will now be handled by Community Service officers, available at 208-468-7916.
