67 beautiful animals are gone after a fire broke out at the Humane Society.

My heart hurts seeing this story.  We lost a lot of man's best friends yesterday in a tragic accident.  A fire broke out at The Humane Society of Southeast Texas.  It started from a dryer inside the building.  The puppy room ending up getting hit the hardest.

I know these little guys are in Texas but it gets you to thinking about our own Humane Society of Idaho.  I can't even imagine.  Thinking about how the number of dogs that died in this accident seems high, but did you know that Humane Societies across the nation have already saved 8, 470 animals in 2016?  That's just a couple of months.

About 200 animals were housed at this shelter before the fire.  They're now looking for foster homes for the rest of the animals along with different items needed that were lost.

  • Dog and cat food (purina only)
  • Money donations
  • Cat litter
  • Litter pans
  • Blankets

I'm grateful that we have these beautiful places to help bridge the gap these little guys need before finding their new homes.  If you're interested in adopting or fostering, please contact The Idaho Humane Society at 208-331-8557.
