Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan is looking for a 'major overhaul'

Did you buy illegal fireworks this weekend? Technically, you can purchase illegal fireworks in Idaho, however, you must sign a waiver stating that you will not use them in the state.

Well....as we've seen in the last week, some people don't really care about that waiver and set them off. Fireworks were the cause of the Table Rock fire that claimed over 2500 acres and a family's home; illegal fireworks are also thought to have started the fire that claimed another home in Nampa this morning.

So, Chief Dennis Doan wants to do something about it.

He says he plans to work with the legislature to change the law. Maybe we'll be seeing some new restrictions next year.
