A really awesome thing about Idaho is there seems to be an infinite number of things to do and incredible attractions to check out. The only problem with that is there are a lot of places we sometimes forget about — but that doesn’t make them any less awesome.

BestLife recently shared a list of 7 Underrated U.S. National Monuments That Should Be on Your Bucket List, and they claim these 7 underrated monuments make perfect vacation destinations.

Well, on that list at #7... is Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve right here in Idaho.

As someone who has been to Craters of the Moon many times, I would agree this is something definitely worth checking out! However, I don’t know if I’d vacation there haha but that’s just me.

Here’s what BestLife had to say about Craters of the Moon...

“Just as its name suggests, Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho is truly otherworldly—even the NPS describes it as "weird and scenic."

"The park contains a variety of different volcano types such as cinder cones as well as splatter cones which are caused later in the eruption cycle," Anwar Y of the travel blog Beyond my Door, explains. "The park is massive, and the majority of the park is actually wilderness. Visitors can even visit 'wild caves,' which are lava tubes that require you to navigate a bit more on your own to travel within."
