The good folks at Wow 104.3 asked me to share my story with you about my participation in the St. Luke's $10,000 Weight Loss Challenge.  They told me that there are a lot of people in the Treasure Valley who have gone through the same things I have and maybe, this time, we can help each other finally make a difference on the scale.

So, here's me:  I'm a 46-year-old married professional woman with a stressful job that is pretty sedentary.  My goal is to lose 25 pounds. It's not a lot, but I can't seem to keep the weight off once I've lost it.  In fact, I've lost the same 15 pounds at LEAST 1,000 times. Using that math, I should weigh less than my birth weight.  Unfortunately, the weight keeps coming back.

I'm not looking to win the Challenge, although I can think of a LOT of things I'd do with that extra money!  What I want to do is get off my diet "roller-coaster" and lose this weight once and for all.

Although I have always been active and finding time to exercise has never been a problem for me, the 1 hour work-out I do each day doesn't balance the 9 hours I sit behind a desk.  It also doesn't balance-out my passion for carbs.  And especially if those carbs are covered in a lovely cream sauce.  And, my carb cravings really top out in the winter when the weather is gray and ugly.

So - in the next post, I'll let you know how I'm getting past my carb cravings, but I'd love to hear what foods have derailed your weight loss efforts and how you've been able to stay on track!
