As teachers and students alike start to head back to school, they're preparing for new normals as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Teacher Annette Fernandez is one of those individuals. She realized that her third grade classroom wasn't going to be equipped for the safety measures she needed to take for her students. Her room wasn't close to a bathroom and her room didn't have a sink for hand washing to slow the spread of COVID-19.

After talking with the school's principal, she found out that there was no money available for hand-washing stations. So with the blessing of her principal, she started a GoFundMe campaign to raise the money for a sink. In two short hours, she exceeded the $1,500 that she needed to install a sink in her classroom.

Not only was she able to get her classroom more equipped for the return to school amid the pandemic, the GoFundMe actually raised over $3,000 so Fernandez was able to put another hand washing station into another classroom.
