Christmas is 4 days away and I still haven't decorated!!  Here's some tips if you need to throw up Christmas in a hurry.

I just moved into my new home in Meridian. Our furniture didn't arrive until this past Friday, so obviously I haven't put up my Christmas decorations yet. Here's what I plan to do to make things look festive without too much work.

1. My Mom sent me these cool new Christmas lights called "Star Shower." Basically you plug it in and it projects Christmas lights on to your house! No climbing on the roof, no making sure the lights are lined up just right. Simply plug it in and in less than 5 minutes your house looks festive on the outside!

2. Put up your tree with just the lights. I know it's not as much fun without the ornaments, but it's still very pretty and festive. I have two trees and plan to simply put them up with just the lights on. Another easy way to decorate a tree is to wrap it in ribbon. My aunt does this every year, and I think her tree looks gorgeous.

3. Make sure your house smells like Christmas. Visitors will notice that when they walk through the door. Pine, warm cider, and cinnamon are some of my favorite scents.

4. Make sure the stockings are hung. You don't have to put up a bunch of knickknacks, but stockings are a must. They say Santa is headed your way!

5. Remember the reason for the season. Our Christmas decor may be very simple this year, but with family around and my kiddos running down the stairs on Christmas morning, it's going to be perfect! If you're in a pinch, remember it doesn't matter if every present has been bought, or every decoration has been put up, it's all about being around family and friends, slowing down a bit, and remembering why we celebrate Christmas.
