I'm a Seahawks fan. I love the team, I love the players, and I've been totally shocked by some of the vile things said about Richard Sherman following his post-game interview.  Why has a team of such classy guys and passionate fans been made the bad guys heading into the big game?  Maybe this is the reason...

A facebook friend of mine posted this yesterday and I think it rings true...

"Every story needs a villain and a hero. If the Patriots were going on to the Super Bowl, the role of villain would be cast, and we could focus on the incredible moral character and classy off-field activities of so many Seahawks. It's a team filled with the kind of role models we're always wishing for in professional sports. But you're not going to hear *those* stories. Because the Broncos are going, led by everybody's favorite golden boy, Peyton Manning. The guy is so darn likable He's a class act, and well-known. So the role of hero was already cast, and Richard Sherman (and that awful commercial with the fake so-not-Seahawks fan mob) have given the media and the country just enough imaging to cast us as the villains. When I think about the awful behavior of so many athletes - violence, womanizing, drunk driving, actual crimes like rape and, yes, dog fighting - it's hard for me to get excited by heat-of-the-moment trash talk from a guy known to be mouthy (and - let's admit it - really clever and funny). But add race to the mix against a literally golden-in-skin-tone rival, and the deal is done. Guess what Seahawk fans - we're the bad guys in the story. It's just going to get worse."

So, what do you think Seahawks fans?  You ready to be the bad guys?
