My life used to revolve around running my kids to and from their after school activities. 20 minutes to karate, 30 minutes to gymnastics, 10 minutes to dance. It was always something, back and forth every day.

My kids are still in Salt Lake City until we sell our home there, so the days of carpooling have gone by the wayside for a couple months. I miss seeing their happy faces as I would drop them off and pick them up, but I do not miss the Driving!!

I just realized I am in good company though!! A study by Allianz Insurance shows parents drive 1700 miles a year driving their kids around and we spend the equivalent of 4 days a year in our cars waiting to pick our children up! 33% of parents say they spend between 10 and 49 hours a month taking kids to social and extracurricular activities and 2% of parents spend even more time than that!!

I can't wait to get my kids settled here and to be the carpool Mom again, but I hope I can find classes a little closer to home! 1700 miles is just too much driving!!
