Thomas Rhett has a new song on WOW 104.3, and his new music video was just released today! Here is an inside look behind his new song and video, "Crash and Burn".

Thomas Rhett's latest album has a bit of a different sound, and I like it! You can hear the inspirations of different genera's and this new song does not disappoint.

According to countryweekly.com, "Thomas Rhett enjoyed a blast from the past when he filmed the video for his hot-rising new single, “Crash and Burn,” premiering Monday (June 8) on CMT and other video outlets. Thomas cruises around the streets of Nashville in a classic covertible while listening to a boombox in the fun-loving clip.

The video captures the essence of the song, which hearkens back to some of the groove-oriented tunes of 1950s and ’60s soul music. In a recent interview, Thomas Rhett told Nash Country Weekly that he gravitated to the song for that reason. “It was very much how a lot of those songs were written,” he noted, “with a very happy melody but with ‘she broke my heart’ lyrics.”

But not content to be tied to that specific era, the clip also references the ’80s with breakdancing and a reference to John Cusack’s iconic boombox scene in the film Say Anything. Many scenes were filmed in downtown Nashville, including the pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland River and Printer’s Alley. “It was cool to shoot this video at some of my old stomping grounds from college,” said Thomas Rhett, who attended Lipscomb University.

“Crash and Burn” marks the fastest-moving single of Thomas Rhett’s career to date, and follows up his No. 1 hits “Make Me Wanna,” “Get Me Some of That” and “It Goes Like This.”
