The Case of the Misplaced Meth

Eagle Police might’ve just solved the most unusual “lost and found” case of the year. Last week, an officer responded to a report of misplaced property near S. Wallberg St. and W. Chartwell St. What did she find? A wallet? A stray phone? Nope. She uncovered a zippered pouch containing approximately 240 grams of methamphetamine, along with other narcotics-related paraphernalia.

Of course, being the good Samaritans they are, the Eagle Police didn’t want the rightful owner to go without. (Although I’d wager “rightful” is open to interpretation here.) Their tongue-in-cheek Facebook post politely invites the owner to step forward, identify their wayward baggie, and claim their… ahem… treasures. All they have to do is give the department a call. Easy enough, right?

This isn’t your typical lost-and-found story, and the internet couldn’t resist chuckling at the irony. A badge-wearing team of service-driven officers offering to return illegal narcotics? It’s the kind of dry humor that gets everyone scrolling through the comments section. “You left your meth at the park; come pick it up behind Door #1!”

Jokes aside, the Eagle Police’s clever post strikes the perfect balance between humor and accountability. It’s a reminder that, while the situation is undeniably absurd, illegal substances are no laughing matter in practice. And, to the mystery owner out there? It looks like your bag is in good hands. Just maybe not the way you were hoping for.

Until then, thanks to the Eagle Police for adding a lighthearted twist to an otherwise serious discovery. The city knows its lost-and-found department is always on top of things, if nothing else. Or maybe we should say… high expectations.
