My wife and I moved here a couple years ago, know that weekend it was 106°, it was that weekend. Through our time here, we've been able to experience a lot, like the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. We have fallen in love with the Boise River and have been able to enjoy so many of the great restaurants in the Treasure Valley as well.

Both of us are new to the Pacific Northwest weather, but coming from the Midwest, where the weather is pretty straightforward, you know what you're getting. So, when I look at the forecast in the Treasure Valley, I take it with a grain of salt. There have been days when it's hotter than expected, and you get more rain or snow than expected, or vice versa.

Coming from the very flat state of Nebraska, the mountains and scenery are fantastic, and on a beautiful day, the snow-capped mountains look stunning as the sun rises. Unfortunately for us, when we moved here, it had been several years of a booming housing market with skyrocketing home prices, which made it difficult for us to purchase a home and even find a rental that would allow us to have our two puppies.

Being in Boise, there are so many places that you can drive to for a fun weekend trip. So we went to Washington for Christmas to see family. We've been able to drive through some beautiful scenery, but if you're new to the Treasure Valley, you should check out this list.
