Another store has a closed sign in their windows at the Boise Towne Square Mall, and this one makes me sigh a bit.

I have many fond memories of taking my kids to Lolli & Pops. They each purchased the refillable bears and loved to go back to the quaint little candy store to fill their glass bears with gummy worms, unique sour candies, chocolates, and licorice. They loved the unique candy from overseas that you couldn't find anywhere else. I hate to tell them that they are closing up shop.

The closing may be temporary though. The company has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection, but according to Don Day at boisedev.com who spoke with a mall official, the closing may not be permanent.

Darren Howard, General Manager of Brookfield Properties, who oversees the mall said,

On a national level with all Lolli and Pops locations negotiations are taking place.

A little background on Lolli & Pops, they launched in 2012 with a store in Tulsa, Oklahoma and grew to 72 stores across the country. The Boise Towne Square Lolli & Pops opened in the Summer of 2016.

We'll keep you posted if we hear any news of the store re-opening.
