Y'all, it got up to 106 degrees in the Boise area this weekend! Can you believe that?
We're sure with it being summertime, many of you are trying to get outside more and go hiking and enjoy the outdoors etc. So, we wanted to share some tips that will help you do that safely, and increase your chances of having more fun and enjoyable experiences.
1. Rise and Hike with the Sun
First and foremost, it's so much better to go early! Sure, it might get to 100+ degrees during the day, but the mornings are still 60-70 degrees.
And if you're trying to avoid the crowds, sometimes earlier means less people. too.
2. Hydration for You and Your Furry Friends
Stay hydrated! This one is a given, but we often get focused on other things and forget.
So, here's your reminder to stay hydrated out there — and that goes or you and whoever else is with you on the hike, including your dogs!
3. Shield Your Skin with Sunscreen
The last big one is to make sure you apply sunscreen. Even if you think the sun isn't really effecting you, it is! At least bring the sunscreen with you just in case.
