The snow over the weekend turned the Treasure Valley into a winter wonderland and now we're reaping the recreational benefits! Get ready to hit the slopes.

Bogus Basin has confirmed they will partially open this Thursday and Friday and will be fully open by Saturday, December 8th. According to idahonews.com Bogus Basin received 28 inches of new snow with the storm.

Bogus will be open seven days a week with nine lifts, three high-speed detachable quads, and three surface conveyors.

On Thursday and Friday, the resort will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The lifts that would be open are The Deer Point Express (#1), Morning Star Chairlift (#2), and Coach Beginner Chair Lift (#7). The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster and the Pepsi Goldrush Tubing hill will not operate Thursday and Friday.

Reduced prices will be offered for skiing and snowboarding on Thursday and Friday. All of the details are at bogusbasin.org.

Night skiing opens Friday, December 21st.

In other skiing news, Tamarack Resort will partially be open Friday for the season with the Tamarack Express and Summit Express lifts. Tickets will be offered for adults at a discounted rate of $39.

Also, keep in mind that if you have a 5th or 6th grader you can get a killer deal on Idaho skiing. (My kids are these ages and I'm super excited about this.) 5th graders can ski three times at each of the 18 area resorts for just $18 and 6th graders get two tickets to each resort.
