Float the Boise is a partnership between Ada County Parks & Waterways, Boise Parks and Recreation, and Boise Fire. The site reminds floaters that the Boise River is a wild, scenic river with natural and structural hazards that can change any time.
Float the Boise River at Your Own Risk
Always use caution when recreating on or near the river. And of course, your safety is your responsibility. Be safe. Have fun. Float the Boise.

What are some things you can do to make sure you have a fun and safe floating experience on the Boise River?
Safety First: Preparing for Your Boise River Adventure
Make sure whatever craft you are using, whether it's an inner tube, raft, kayak, or kiddie pool, is in good condition and capable of holding who or whatever is in it or on it.
Also, that you have proper attire to keep you safe, especially footwear, when navigating the shallows and pulling your craft to deeper water. Paddles are recommended to keep your craft moving when the current is light, sunscreen, and beverages to stay hydrated (water is best). And last, but certainly not least, a properly fitting life jacket or life vest, that could be the difference between life and death on the river in certain situations.

Respecting Fellow Floaters on the Boise River
Another thing to keep in mind is to be respectful of other floaters! Watch your spacing, involving others in your water fights or floating shenanigans, aggressive drunk or obscene behavior, and if your dog floats with you, please keep them under your control. Remember, families and children are also on the river.
Mostly, just common sense, and watching out for others so everyone has a safe and fun time floating the Boise River!
