Idaho is a great place to live, but if you scroll social media or spend any time on dating apps, you’ll see one of the most common complaints from singles is dating here can feel rough.

I talked with several Idaho singles and heard a lot of the same frustrations. There are some common threads, like baggage from past relationships, but one complaint was consistent across the board.

There just aren’t enough single people in Idaho.

We wanted to see if that’s actually true.

We broke this down two ways: total number of unmarried adults and percentage of unmarried adults in Idaho towns. And the numbers are telling, especially if you live in Boise or Twin Falls.

Idaho Cities With The Most Singles By Total Number

These cities simply have the largest volume of unmarried adults. Bigger cities will naturally dominate here.

Observation: If you just want the largest pool of singles, Boise isn’t even close to being challenged. But that doesn't tell the whole story.

Idaho Cities With The Highest Percentage Of Singles

This list is a better way to judge your odds, because it ignores how big a city is and focuses purely on the share of singles. In other words, if you randomly meet an adult in one of these places, the statistical chance that the person is not currently married is higher than in most of Idaho. Some of these cities clear the 50 percent mark easily, and a few push well past 60 percent. The tradeoff is that many of these places are smaller, so you may have better odds on paper, but a smaller overall dating pool.

The Takeaway For Idaho Singles

Big city does not automatically mean better odds.

If you want the largest number of potential matches, Boise is still the best bet by volume, but like Twin Falls, it dips below 50 percent of available singles.

If you care more about the percentage of people who are not currently married, a handful of smaller towns come out on top, even if the total dating pool is smaller.

Either way, the data we sourced from Statistical Atlas is clear. Idaho has more single people than the internet gives it credit for. The real question might be whether the struggle is a lack of singles or just how and where people are actually meeting them. Maybe you're just too picky?
