The Mile Marker 14 Fire near Hilltop Station is now 50% contained but some roads are still closed and homes continue to be at risk!

Crews say they don't know yet when the fire will be completely contained. They are currently working on the Northern part of the fire near Aldape Summit and the high bridge on HWY 21.

Rocky Canyon Road, Highland Valley Road, and all trails east to HWY 21 from Rocky Canyon are closed.

Robie Creek and Rocky Canyon are also closed to recreation.

The Robie boat launch at Lucky Peak and Mores arm lake area and many boat-in camping areas will be closed from 8 am to 8 pm today.

In addition to destroying a barn, a tack room, and a chicken coop the fire has damaged power lines and poles along the highway and cut off power to thousands of people in Boise, Idaho City, Centerville, and Placerville until about 3 pm yesterday.

The specific cause of the fire is still being investigated although officials say they have determined it was human caused.

10 structures are threatened between Hilltop Station and High Bridge, including 3 homes, although none have been evacuated.

HWY 21 is open, but drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution.

Triple digit weather expected today is not going to be helpful in battling the blaze, but more crews are expected to arrive in the area this afternoon.
