As of November 26, 2023, Idaho has welcomed 118,639 new voters from 49 states. These newcomers contribute to the state's diverse political and demographic landscape and significantly influence its future.

I wanted to do more digging into this after seeing a discussion on Reddit. I'll share that discussion with you below, but let's continue to look at the numbers. Among the incoming voters in the state, 65% (77,089 individuals) identify as Republicans, showing a strong conservative base. Meanwhile, 21% (24,896 individuals) are Unaffiliated, and 12% (14,707 individuals) align with the Democratic Party.

The largest group of voters who have relocated to Idaho is those aged between 30 and 49, totaling 44,914 individuals. This trend shows an increase in working-age families and professionals choosing Idaho as their new home. Following this group are 32,782 voters aged 18 to 29, who bring youthful energy and fresh perspectives. Additionally, the state welcomed 33,083 voters aged 50 to 69, many of whom may be approaching retirement, and 7,860 individuals aged 70 and over.

You Can't Talk About People Moving To Idaho If You Don't Include California.

California continues to lead in sending voters to Idaho, with 39,550 individuals relocating to the state between 2004 and 2023. Among these, 75% (29,510) identify as Republicans, 14% (5,483) as Unaffiliated, and 10% (3,940) as Democrats, reinforcing Idaho's Republican majority. Are Californians moving here really changing the political landscape? I know these numbers are through the end of 2023, but they're the most up-to-date numbers from this government website.

75% of Californians moving to Idaho are Republican. 10% are Democrat. 14% are unaffiliated. 2% are other parties.
