Concert for Compassion Lights Up Treefort Nov. 29
When I’m trying to pick from all the great things to do in Boise, I like to look for events with a cause whenever I can. It feels good to know that while I’m enjoying myself, I’m doing a little bit to give back. I found this cool event happening just after Thanksgiving that you might want to check out. It looks like fun, it’s family-friendly, and it helps a newer non-profit that’s totally worth supporting.
Clemy’s Crew’s Concert for Compassion hits Treefort Music Hall on Saturday, November 29, 5–9 p.m. We’re talking a full night of entertainment with bands, pizza, a full bar, raffle prizes, and an auction. And while you’re having fun, you can feel good knowing you’re helping Idaho families facing a pediatric medical crisis.
The Heart Behind It: Clementine’s Story
Founder Scott Thompson started Clemy’s Crew after his six-month-old daughter, Clementine, suffered a sudden spinal cord injury and spent months in the hospital. 'I dropped her at daycare, and when I came back eight hours later, she had a spinal cord injury,' he said. The community showed up for his family in a big way, which sparked a simple question: how do other families get that same help when crisis hits?

The Costs Insurance Doesn’t Cover
When people picture a medical crisis, they immediately think of hospital bills and insurance. But everything outside that can be just as jarring. Think last-minute travel and hotels when a child is life-flighted out of state, meals for parents and siblings, parking, missed paychecks, childcare for the kids back home, and even keeping up with rent and utilities while you’re away. Scott puts it this way, ‘Insurance doesn’t cover my hotel when my daughter is life-flighted to a new state—or the food, the gas, or the bills waiting at home.’ Clemy’s Crew steps into that gap so parents can focus all of their attention on their sick kiddo
How Clemy’s Crew Shows Up (Fast)
Clemy’s Crew keeps support low-barrier and quick. Most referrals come directly from hospital staff so parents don’t have to worry about paperwork. There are no exclusions by diagnosis or financial status; the focus is on relieving stress fast so parents can focus on their child. 'Our goal is to get support to families within 48 hours of identification,' Thompson said. The group is volunteer-run and already helping families across multiple Idaho counties, with demand growing.
