A new app will track your child's school bus in the Treasure Valley.

Predictable Ryde is a smartphone app that tracks your child's school bus in real time.

The app works by placing a modem on your child's bus that connects over cellular network and then sends messages approximately every 10 seconds.

Through the Predictable Ryde app parents can track their child's school bus.

The app will give parents the estimated time of their buses arrival and it will send text messages saying the bus is in the area.

According to KTVB, the Predictable Ryde app costs $4.99 a month for parents or $39.99 a year and is free to school districts.

Currently the app is not available in all school districts and you must receive an invitation from your child's school to subscribe.
