There will be a lot of people and a lot of open area.  You should prepare and make sure you have plenty of sunscreen with you, and drink a lot of water that day. With summer here and the temperature rising, here are a few tips to help keep you cool this summer.

  1. Eat more small meals often. Your body creates less metabolic heat with smaller amounts of food.
  2. Eat spicy food. The natural heat in the chilies enhances circulation and causes sweating, which in turn cools the body down.
  3. Avoid alcohol. It is dehydrating. Mineral water or low-sugar juices are cooler options.
  4. If you exercise, either outdoors or in the gym, do so before 7 a.m. when the day is at its coolest.
  5. Remove covers, blankets and bedspreads and sleep with only a sheet on your bed.
  6. Replace your moisturizer with an aloe vera après-sun product. Your skin temperature will be lower.
  7. Wear moisture-wicking sleepwear or a t-shirt.
  8. Try a Liquid Ice cooling bandage, a Chillow cooling pillow insert, an Iso Cool Side pillow or mattress pad, an Ice Bandana, Cool Touch Comfort Cushion or any one of the personal cooling products available.
  9. Wear fewer clothes and drink hot tea. The extra sweat produced by consuming the hot drink will cause more perspiration. This in turn cools you off when the air touches your exposed skin and the sweat evaporates, thereby causing your skin to cool down.
  10. Run your hands and wrists under cold tap water or apply a cool, damp cloth on your wrists every couple of hours. This helps cool the blood as it passes through the pulse point your wrist. Other less convenient pulse points include; the temple area just in front of your ear, the center of the side on your neck, the inside of your elbows and knees, tops of feet, inside of ankle near where the pointy bone juts out and a spot in the center of your inner thigh.
