
Fatal Crashes on Idaho Highways Over the Weekend
Idaho Weekend Marked by Two Fatal Crashes on US 20/26 and I-84
Two deadly crashes in southwest Idaho took place on back-to-back days, leaving two drivers dead and two others hospitalized. Idaho State Police say both crashes were caused by vehicles leaving their lanes into oncoming traffic, resulting in head-on collisions.
Notus Fatal Crash on US 20/26
Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that happened around 6:19 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at US 20/26 and Purple Sage Road, just west of Notus.
Vehicles and Drivers Involved Near Notus
A blue 2013 Cadillac SRX was driven by a 77-year-old Parma woman, traveling west on US 20/26. A white Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 67-year-old Caldwell man was eastbound. The Cadillac left its lane into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision with the Silverado.
Injuries and Medical Response West of Notus
The Cadillac’s driver died at the scene. The Silverado’s driver was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. All lanes were blocked for about three hours while crews worked the scene.
I-84 Fiery Crash Near Hammett on 11/8/25
On Saturday, November 8, 2025, at about 2:12 p.m., troopers responded to a head-on collision on Interstate 84 near milepost 110 in Elmore County.
Vehicles and Drivers in the I-84 Hammett Crash
A white Ram dually pickup towing a travel trailer, driven by a 55-year-old man from Canton, Texas, was eastbound. A tan 1995 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 29-year-old Garden City man was heading west. According to ISP, the Ram left its lane into oncoming traffic, which caused a head-on collision. Both vehicles became fully engulfed after the impact.
Injuries and Emergency Transport in Elmore County
The Chevrolet’s driver died at the scene. The Ram’s driver was flown by air ambulance to a local hospital. All lanes were blocked for approximately three hours as emergency crews responded and cleared the scene.
Investigations are Ongoing in Both Fatal Idaho Accidents
Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate both crashes and will provide more information as it becomes available.
