This is one of those things that you can't avoid no matter how good of a driver you are or how aware you are of what others are doing on the road.  60-year-old Maryann Steiner was just sitting at a stop light waiting for it to turn green when WHAM, she gets smashed from behind.

Think about the damage of somebody ramming into the back of your vehicle when you're loose, casual, and not suspecting a thing.  The results are deadly and devastating.

According to KTVB, the accident took place Friday night around 6 o'clock at the corner of Blue Lakes Boulevard and Heyburn Avenue in Twin Falls, Idaho.  Steiner's vehicle smashed into two other vehicles when hit but she got the worst of it.

A total of five people were involved in the crash, all immediately transported to hospitals.  Steiner was at Saint Alphonsus in Boise when she died from her injuries.  The Ada County Coroner's Office stated that Steiner did indeed die from her injuries sustained in the crash but haven't been specific as to exactly what those injuries were.

One of our Idaho families is in mourning tonight and all we can do is offer up our thoughts and prayers.  Truly a senseless accident with an extreme loss.  We currently have not heard about the condition of the other four people involved in the accident.  We hope that all four come out okay.  We'll keep you posted.
