I'm not sure if it's bad luck, ADD, or just me, but I'm a walking disaster!

The crazy things is, I strive to be the exact opposite of this. I want to be that person who is always organized and has all of her ducks in a row, but somehow disasters happen all around me!

Here's some things that happened over the weekend to prove my point.

  1. We went to a fall festival and all of a sudden I couldn't find my keys (this happens to me on a very regular basis). I checked every store I had been in with no luck. Finally my husband went out to my car to see if I had locked them inside. I hadn't, but I had left my keys in the ignition and the car was still running! (My husband is incredibly patient with me and just laughs these things off.)
  2. I set out to make my very favorite fall soup. (Check my blogs later and I'll give you the recipe!) The soup was just about perfect and I was grinding some pepper into it when the lid pops off and hundreds of peppercorns dump throughout my soup! I spent nearly an hour picking them out before feeding it to my family, but it still wasn't very edible.
  3. During this same meal I was serving garlic bread. (You know the kind that comes in the silver bag at the store that you just throw in the oven.) The bread had only been purchased the day before, but when I took it out of the oven and opened the bag, it was completely moldy. Dinner officially ruined!
  4. My daughter wanted a pair of scissors, so I went to grab a pair out of our craft bin. In the process, I bumped an open package of beads that scattered all over the floor. Hundred and hundreds of teeny tiny beads had to be picked up. (My daughter was so sweet about it and helped me pick them up, but hence another disaster.)

This was just over the course of one day! I am also known for losing my hotel keys, driving in the gutter and getting nails in my tires, bumping into people, interrupting people when they speak, and dropping things all over the place. Rick once told me I just have to embrace it. Perhaps he's right, because despite my efforts, I don't see the disasters going away any time soon!
