Boise Police Respond, Update Public on ‘Bizarre’ Viral Car Crash

It was a crash 'seen and heard' all around America--the viral video has over 3 Million views and counting and it took place right here in Idaho.

An Idaho driver that rear ended another at a stoplight quickly became 'internet famous' for all of the wrong reasons.

In what would have otherwise been just another 'fender bender' in the Treasure Valley turned into a full blown investigation. If you missed the video, the driver of the vehicle that was at fault hopped out and ran to a nearby storm drain...in the middle of traffic...to dispose of something. 

Of course this made the crash footage go everywhere online. It looked so silly and suspicious!

Now, Boise Police has spoken up and provided not only an update, but video footage of them looking to that very storm drain.

Drugs were most definitely discovered--along with that glass pipe!

Boise Police shared the following update on Facebook, which included an arrest:

BPD Officer Loomis saw their first post and decided to investigate the very suspicious activity himself! As you may have seen in part 2 of the CollisionCam videos, he went to the storm drain and identified there was definitely something in there. So he called for a second officer and got to work. After digging, getting in the drain and even pulling items out with his feet, he located the items that were likely ditched by our suspect after the crash, a small baggie of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The crash had been reported and with that report the suspect was identified. Officers learned he was on probation so with the help of Probation and Parole officers, he was located and arrested. Following an investigation he was booked on Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
