Kat Von D Sells Amazing Historic L.A. Home With A Blood-Red Pool
We have all seen the homes that celebrities buy and sell. So it's always intriguing to see what people purchase worth millions of dollars. This one caught my eye because of the seller.
Kat Von D. rose to fame after starring in a reality TV Show called Miami Ink, and later, she got her own show called LA Ink. She then went on to start her cosmetics company and a career in music. Kat Von D has accumulated over $30 million and purchased this home in November 2016 for $6.5 million. According to the Sher Group, "Newton Van Nuys, this 3-story Victorian was moved to its current location in Windsor Square by his son J. Benton Van Nuys in 1915."
The house is beautiful, and it looks like Kat Von D really put her touch on the home. It continues throughout the home and into the backyard with her dramatic blood-red swimming pool and spa. The house was built in 1896, and the living space is over 12,000 sq. ft. The mansion has 8 bedrooms and 7.5 baths. The property also has a carriage house above the garage, including another 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The Sher Group also says in their property description, "the hidden bar with hand carved walls has a secret door leading to the show-stopping in-ground pool and spa with both covered and sun drenched seating areas."
The historic mansion had been on the market for over a year and was listed for $15 million, but that isn't what she got. Kat Von D. only got $8 million.
