I just received an email from the owner of Krispy Kreme's son regarding a fundraiser on Wednesday. This one is especially close to home for the Treasure Valley. 100% of the proceeds raised will go to the children of Jose & Heidi De Leon.

This is a very tragic story for everyone involved and the poor kids. Both of these children watched their parents murdered in a crime scene I'd rather not go into. Krispy Kreme is stepping up for this Meridian family and giving back for five hours on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

Brian Spongberg from Krispy Kreme spoke with me on Friday night explaining how important this was to the restaurant franchise:

We were devastated when we heard about this tragic story right in the town that we serve. We want to do whatever we can to give back to this family. We have done something similar at another Krispy Kreme in Utah and raised $16,000 for a family and we are hoping to do the same for these girls. Please come on down, bring your family, enjoy some free doughnuts and drinks and donate to this amazing cause"

This is how it's going to work on Wednesday: Customers will be invited to Krispy Kreme in Meridian on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.for doughnuts and drinks. All proceeds will go to the children who lost their parents that one evening in Meridian and in the worst way. I can't imagine. We all applaud Krispy Kreme for going above and beyond the corporate ladder to make OUR community stronger.

100% of the proceeds on Wednesday will go directly to the Joe Paul and Heidi De Leon Benefit Fund to assist with the children's education and well-being.

I would encourage to share with all your friends and family. Tragedy strikes when we're not looking and these poor children are just too young to figure it out on their own. I'm not an employee of Krispy Kreme and don't know this family. I'm just an Idahoan trying to spread the word.
