Did you know there is one remote section of Idaho that you can legally get away with murder?!

It's called "The Zone of Death" and it's in part of Yellowstone that borders Idaho and Wyoming. Here you'll find a 50 mile narrow strip of land in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest where you could commit murder and walk away Scott Free.

A loophole was discovered back in 2004 by Michigan Law Professor Brian Kalt. He wrote an article describing how you can commit murder here and get away with it called "The Perfect Crime."

Here's How It Works:

You can get away with murder on this strip of land because it creates a legislative grey area.

Yellowstone is considered federal land. While the vast majority of Yellowstone is in Wyoming, small parts of it fall in Idaho and Montana,...BUT congress has placed the entire park in Wyoming's district!!

If you look closely at the 6th Amendment, it grants a criminal defendant the right to trial by jury consisting of members living in the state AND district where the crime was committed.

This is the loophole!! Since all of Yellowstone is in Wyoming's district, you can commit murder in the section of Idaho (and technically Montana) because the jury can not possibly be from both the state AND the district in which the crime happened! Make sense?!

Before you go out and commit a crime on this piece of land though, Beware!

Part of the criteria that you are saved by in the 6th Amendment states the crime cannot be premeditated or orchestrated outside Yellowstone National Park.

Creepy aeh?! If your nemesis suggests you take a trip to this part of Yellowstone I'd be pretty leery!!
