Reports of an armed individual caused a lockdown at the College of Idaho today.

This is one of those situations where you think that will never happen here, but it did.

According to KTVB, two people in dark clothing were seen brandishing weapons at about 12:45 today on the College of Idaho campus near the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

Someone called police after they said the pair pointed a handgun at them.

Fortunately no one was hurt, maybe in part because classes were not in session due to honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but the suspects have not been located or identified.

It is also unknown if the suspects had any connection to a civil rights forum that was scheduled on campus today for 1:30 and which went forward as planned.

The lockdown was lifted at 2:30 after Caldwell Police officers searched the area.

If you have any information please contact police.
