Man Found In Middleton Irrigation Ditch Identified

We finally have some answers as to who the man is that was found dead in a Middleton irrigation canal yesterday.

His name is Jose Manuel Montiel Sr. and he was 57-years-old and lived in Caldwell. Investigative reports show he did not die from drowning in the canal, but rather he died from natural causes related to health issues.

According to KTVB, Montiel's body was found by a property manager of a nearby trailer park on Sunday. Foul play is not suspected, although it is unknown as to how his body ended up in the irrigation canal.

I still feel awful that this man left this earth in this manner, but I hope these results give his family and all those who loved him some closure.
