Does this mean Shaq is also proposing to this man's girlfriend?

Gosh, I love a feel good story. I love when we see people just being good humans and helping one another out. Personally, I've always wanted to be rich so I can do things like this.

NBA postgame show on TNT

According to his account on the segment, just a day prior to the show, Shaq had been shopping for earrings at Zales. The other hosts kind of hazed him for this and he responded with, "first of all, I have a jewelry line at Zales." That quickly shut them up.

He then tells the story of a man who was looking to pay off the engagement ring he had picked out for his fiancé. It was clear that he was paying for the ring via layaway. Shaq described him as "shy" and said he asked him how much the ring cost. Although he would not disclose the amount, he said it wasn't too expensive for him so he just laid down his credit card and paid for it.

It's not uncommon for the NBA legend to do things like this. He also shared a story of furniture shopping with his mom. After meeting another mom and her autistic daughter, Shaq then proceeded to pay for their purchases. Doing a good deed each day is something he strives for and he said he doesn't do it for the recognition.

"I'm just trying to make people smile. That's all."
